Job Title: GraceKids Coordinator
Reports To: Bryan Thomas, Campus Pastor
Time Status: Part Time
SUMMARY
The Grace Kids Coordinator provides organizational and administrative support for the Children’s Ministry, working closely with the Oak Ridge Campus Pastor, Knoxville Campus Grace Kids Directors, and the Oak Ridge Ministry Coordinator. This role aims to contribute to the spiritual growth of children at Grace Baptist Church by ensuring effective programming and support for preschool-aged children and their families.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:
1. Program Management:
• Implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities for preschoolers and school-aged kids.
• Prepare and set up for Sunday morning and Wednesday night programming, ensuring environments are safe, engaging, and welcoming.
• Prepare and organize curriculum boxes, keeping classrooms stocked with necessary supplies such as cereal, wipes, and grocery bags.
2. Administrative Duties:
• Prepare weekly lesson plans and ensure all materials are ready for use.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance and any relevant child development observations.
• Communicate with parents regarding their child's progress, upcoming events, and other relevant information.
• Handle the scheduling and preparation for special events such as Parent/Child Dedications and Kids Night Out.
3. Volunteer Coordination:
• Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers for weekly and monthly preschool programs.
• Use a monthly rotation list to schedule volunteers and provide ongoing support and feedback to ensure effective program delivery.
• Continually recruit volunteers to maintain adequate coverage.
4. Event Planning and Execution:
• Organize and oversee special events, including holiday programs and family gatherings.
• Prepare materials and set up for events like Parent/Child Dedications, including creating certificates and gift bags.
• Assist with scheduling, setup, and ordering for Kids Night Out and other events.
5. Safety and Compliance:
• Adhere to all church policies, including GBC’s Child Protection Policy, and child safety regulations.
• Regularly inspect the GraceKids area to ensure it is clean and safe.
• Incorporate detailed processes or systems for managing resources and materials.
QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:
• Previous experience in childhood education or a related field is preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• A high degree of emotional intelligence.
• Ability to work effectively with children, parents, and volunteers.
• A passion for creating a positive and nurturing environment for children.
• Ability to perform services independently and work cohesively within a team environment.
• Good ‘people’ skills and the ability to maintain sensitive confidential information.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with information concerning children, parents, and Grace Baptist Church.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
• Flexibility to adjust hours as needed for special events or unforeseen circumstances.
• This role may require occasional evening and weekend hours beyond the standard schedule.
